For all body waxing, 3 weeks of hair growth is needed in order for the wax to hold onto the hair. That is approximately the length of a grain of rice.
Growing the hair out is #1. But next is regularly exfoliating & moisturizing your skin. This will remove any dead skin cells & keep a clear path for the hair to grow out, avoiding any ingrown hairs & giving the best results for hair removal.
Loose fitting, comfortable clothes are best for any body waxing. Tight clothes may cause irritation to the waxed area. Also, shoes that are easy to take on & off are recommended for your convenience when changing.
Deodorant is fine, but it will be removed when waxing the underarms. I do not recommend reapplying for at least 4-6 hours after waxing to avoid any skin irritation. Typically you won’t smell after an underarm wax due to the shock on the pores.
Yep! If you’re comfortable, I’m comfortable. Just pop a tampon in.
Yes! I recommend moisturizing daily. Dry skin will make waxing more painful & can cause ingrown hairs.
Regular exfoliation of the skin & daily moisturizing can significantly reduce ingrown hairs. By removing the dead skin hair is less likely to get trapped underneath.
Yes but it will be removed anywhere we wax. I don’t recommend reapplying any makeup to your face for at least 4-6 hours to avoid any breakouts or irritation.
It is not recommended to wax within 2 weeks of a sunburn as the skin is very delicate & waxing over it may cause discomfort, burning, or even removal of the top layers of skin.
-Exfoliate regularly & moisturize daily,
-Take an ibuprofen 30 minutes ahead of time,
-Schedule your wax around your cycle. If you know you’re more sensitive to pain around your period try to plan accordingly.
-Don’t let it get TOO long. 3 weeks is the ideal length for waxing most areas on most people. If you go much longer than that it can be more painful.
-No caffeine 2 hours prior
Everyone’s hair grows at different rates of speed but generally speaking:
Facial waxing: every 3-4 weeks
Body waxing: every 5-6 weeks
No gym, & stay out of the pool, hot tub, & steam room for 24 hours. Your skin is in shock so keep the area clean & give it some time to calm down before engaging in any activities that can cause friction & sweating. This will prevent any irritation & reduce the chances of breakouts & ingrown hairs.
Everyone’s hair grows in 3 stages, so the first time you get waxed, you might have some short hairs that don’t pick up or you might have some hair grow back quicker than we’d like. By keeping a regular waxing schedule we will train your hair to all grow all at the same speed so it can all be removed at once.
